1. Qualitative analysis of sample production trend:
As of July 31, 2024, the monthly production of butyl ketone in China this month (July 2024) was 48,000 tons, a decrease of 0.78 million tons from the previous month, a decrease of 14.0% from the previous month, and a year-on-year increase of 38.7%. This month’s capacity utilization rate was 64.86%, down 0.5% from the previous month, and up 35.6% year on year. On July 3, Anhui Zhonghuifa unit suddenly failed to stop, and resumed production on the 8th. On the afternoon of July 5, the sudden natural disaster in Dongming County, Heze City, Shandong Province, caused a large area of power failure in Dongming Petrochemical Industry Park, and the Dongming pear tree butyl ketone device was forced to emergency stop, which has not been resumed. On July 15, Anhui Zhonghui Fa two plant lines took turns to stop to replace the catalyst, and resumed normal production at the end of the month. The butyl ketone industry lost a total of 22,600 tons in the month.
2. Forecast and analysis of sample production trend:
In August 2024, the domestic butyl ketone plant maintenance capacity involves 220,000 tons/year. Shandong Dongming pear tree device has a restart plan. It is initially expected that the monthly production of butanone in August will be near 56,100 tons, and other temporary maintenance or production reduction will not be excluded.
